Seeking darker-beer like Guiness?!

Question:

Seeking darker-beer like Guiness?

I am a fan of guiness for its bittersweet, creamy taste. I am wondering if there are other dark beers that have similar taste but even more concentrated flavour? Or any liquor would do.
THanks!

Answers:
Have you tried drinking any Porters? They are dark and creamy - I am a huge fan! I like Summit Great Northern Porter the best, but there are quite a few others out there!

Beck's Dark all the way

amaretto has a similar taste. sweetwater beer is good too. bass? the list goes on

Mississippi Mud.

Rogue Russian Imperial Stout - very deep flavour!

I dig the Brooklyn Stout. Not quite as heavy but just as intense a flavor. BTW - I'd never heard of it before, but I tried BareKnuckle Stout = one of the worst beers ever!!

Guinness is considered a 'Dry Irish Stout' - There are literally hundreds of beers available in this style, both imported and domestic.

If you're looking for the same basic flavor profile, but "kicked up" a notch or two, you'll want to look for an Imperial Stout, or possibly an Imperial Porter. These beers will be higher in ABV (alcohol by volume), as well as packing a more robust, over the top flavor profile.

Look for North Coast Brewing Co.'s Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout - it's widely distributed and fits the bill perfectly for what you're looking for.

Cheers!

If you can find it "Beamish"
it's guinesses long lost twin brother

Guinness is an Irish Dry Stout, and there are many other beers of this style out there. Here is a list from BeerAdvocate.com:

You could also try visiting local brewpubs; many of the brewpubs I've been to seem to offer irish drys. You can search for brewpubs in your area here:

As to the post above, Old Rasputin is one of my all-time favorite beers, but it is quite different than Guinness (a lot more intense, for one). North Coast also makes an Old #38 Stout that is closer to Guinness (they call it an irish dry, but it isn't quite), but it's not quite as good as Old Rasputin in my opinion.

Beer on

Edit, in response to other posts:
Beck's Dark and Cerveza Negra are all lagers, which makes them about as different from a stout as anything. And Bass, although an ale, is not at all dark.
