Tolerance to alcohol?!

Question:

Tolerance to alcohol?

i was wondering if alcoholism runs in ur family and u start 2 drink would u develop a tolerance more quickly than some1 who doesnt have alcoholism in their genes and drinks

Answers:
No, people who have alcoholism in their families are more prone to become alcoholics. Not more tolerant to the alcohol. Your tolerance level depends on your metabolism.

i wouldnt think so

No, I think its the other way around. Alcoholism does run in families. If an alcoholic decides to have children then those child/ren have a 50% chance of becoming alcoholic too. I am alcoholic and so was my husband. There is alcoholism in my family, but I don't know about his. I'm terrified for my daughter because it come from both sides of her family, and she's now experimenting with alcohol. A person who is a potential alcoholic (runs in their genes) wouldn't develop a tolerance, rather, I think they would become alcoholic faster than someone who isn't.
Does that make sense? I hope so.

The more alcohol u drink the more tolerant you are of it, but the more often u drink the more of a problem it is.
1 person who's never touched a drop in their life, and tries it isn't goin to handle the affects alcohol has on them.
I grow up watching my older brother drink lots and lots and get so wasted, seeing him that way made me stay away from alcohol. Sure i do i drink sometimes, but not so much that i dont know whats goin on, i know my limit.
