If I want to start bartending, what would be my first step?!

Question:

If I want to start bartending, what would be my first step?

HAve worked in clubs, and I enjoy drinking. I also like mixing up drinks for my friends at house parties. But I want to make some money. I'm kinda cute, and I love to talk. Help me get on the right check.

Answers:
i am a bartender and my knowledege came through practice. "bartending schools" will indeed teach you how to make a drink but is it really worth the money you pay? if you were to work at a busy club there is no time for jigger pouring and the "flair" they teach. your objective is to get as many drinks out as you can that taste good mixed with a little flirting in order to make the tips you covet. my advice is to find a bar where you can bar back while you learn the ropes and learn to pour during the slow times. also drinks that may be popular at one bar or club may not be at another... so learning to be a "long island specialist" from bartending school may not get you far when the drink of choice where you are working is a madras or tequila sunrise.

Kinda cute and love to talk-you're qualified! Seriously though, there are actually bartending schools that run as short as two weeks, so that would be a great place to start. If you want to bartend and make money, you'll have to get on at a high volume place and they want people that can throw down. So have some skills on your resume and either take the class or maybe hook on at a mom and pop type place until you hone your skills. Good luck.

first---learn the recipe for making ice cubes.

Try a bar tending school.

The best place would be fine restaurants.
Or might apply for Play boy clubs, if you get the connections, cause there you'll make real money

I would go to bartending school. Dont tell anyone you did this, as it is a huuuuge faux paux in the bartending world. However, this would give you the bacground you need to apply for the job. Sometimes, they even hook you up with a place to start off so that at least you have experience. Anyways, go apply for jons after this, be really outgoing. Because of your newfound knowledge, you will do awesome and hopefully get the job. Can you tell Ive been planning this one out? haha. i want to become a bartender sometime soon, been a waitress for five years. Good luck!

Your best bet is to go to a trade college for a mixology course. It,s not expensive, or lengthy, but you'll get a certificate and can work anywhere. Plus it's considered to be a post secondary education. A bonus!

Bartending School.

First and foremost try to learn as many recipes as you can. and then you should go for 6 months or 1 year course for bar tending where in they should be able to teach you all the techniques like juggling and flambeing and many more....
so all the best for that
