Alcohol confidence?!

Question:

Alcohol confidence?

I have anxiety problems, anyway,i drank some vodka before leaving the house and i felt fine, confident, talkative and happy, but once i ate and sobered up i went back to being my quiet self again and anxious, why does this happen?

Answers:
alcohol does give you the confidence you need to talk a great conversation...however if you don't have the confidence in your own well being then you rely on it to help you...i would suggest that you stay away from it for a while...or go to AA which ever sounds best trust me i know from experience....i have bin in the biz for ever...hope all goes well thinking of you in my prayers

alcohol relaxes u. but u need to deal with ur anxiety

i'm the same way, my friends call it liquid courage..
don't really know why it happens, just something about the alcohol makes me more outgoing than i am sober

booze blocks the metabolism of some neurotransmitters - and increases others - specifically GABA - which makes you uninhibited. In other words - you dont care as much.

I suggest speaking to a psychiatrist or doctor about other methods to relieve anxiety before you unintentionally end up using it more often than you like....

Alcohol relaxes you, and the more you drink, the more you may lose your inhibitions. Don't let alcohol become a way to "cure" your anxiety though, because it wil just cause more problems. Drinking once in awhile is okay but don't become an alcoholic.
