Any experiences buying Absinthe online?!

Question: The stuff that is now sold in the US does not contain Grande Wormwood and I want the good stuff. I have found plenty of websites, I was just wondering if people get what they order.

Since about this summer the "real" stuff is available in the US. I've tried both Lucid and Kubler and they are really interesting. I also purchased them online and had them delivered very quickly and with no problems at all. I got mine from

http://www.parkaveliquor.com/

It's a good drink with some interesting properties, but it's not magical or anything.

I would ask a local liqueur store if they could order you some, that way if it sucks, you have a chest to poke your finger at!

You are mistaken.
All 3 (yes, 3) varieties of absinthe on US shelves have grand wormwood (artemesia absinthium): Lucid, Kubler, and St. George Spirits Verte...all of which contain a. absinthium. The website states this for Lucid, it's printed on the label of St. George, and Kubler is a long known traditional producer.

Then again, if you've fallen for the hype that thujone is the magical mystery ingredient that gives absinthe it's trippy effect, you'll be sorely disappointed when you actually try it for the first time. There's more thujone in sage and tarragon than the absinthe that claims to have the highest amount. If you haven't hallucinated eating your Thanksgiving turkey and stuffing, absinthe won't make you, either.

Still, everybody's entitled to find out for themselves first hand. Thusfar, just about every website selling absinthe has had very good results in getting their customers exactly what they ordered. There's just a lot of debate of the marketers hyping the effects in order to convince the uninformed that they're getting more with their absinthe that they do get than will really happen.
