How many 12 ounce cans does it take to make a pound?!

Question:

How many 12 ounce cans does it take to make a pound?

Answers:
12 oz cans are usually a container holding 12 fluid ounces of volume not weight. 1 pound (lb) is a measure of weight not volume.

If the cans are indeed 12 ounces by weight, then you would need 1 and 1/3 cans to make 16 ounces which is the equivalent of 1 lb in weight.

do you mean the actual can or the liquid inside?

If you mean the liquid inside, you are trying to go from liquid measure to dry measure and that is not how things work. For instance, 12 liquid ounces of water, weighs less than 12 liquid ounces of honey.

That is why recipes either call for ounces or cups depending on the ingredients.

There are 16oz. in a pound so your only 4 oz. short. 1 can plus 1/4 of another can. There ya go.

Are they still full? If so, 1 and 1/3. If not, that's very sad.

1 and 1/4th of a can

let's see... 16 oz is a pound, 8 oz is a cup, and a gallon weighs about 8 pounds... fluid and dry measures are different... moronic
