What’s the best alcoholic drink that doesn’t make your breath smell like you’ve had alcohol?!

Question: As a former alcoholic, I have done extensive research on this topic and believe I qualify as an "expert" of sorts.

All alcoholic drinks will make your breath smell like alcohol. This is because it's the alcohol that smells like alcohol. So if a drink has alcohol in it, your breath will smell like alcohol. It's really as simple as that.

Lots of people think that you won't smell like alcohol if you drink vodka, because vodka is unflavored. This is nonsense. Vodka is 80 or 100 proof! It's hugely alcoholic, and you stink like a distillery when you drink it.

Vodka

Vodka for sure...

pretty much drinking any hard whiskey or tequila or vodka straight will give you stinky breath... EWW!

Kramer: That is *damn* good scotch. I could do a commercial for this stuff. Mmmmm, boy that Hennigans goes down smooth. And afterwords you don't even smell. That's right folks. I just had three shots of Hennigans and I don't smell. Imagine, you can walk around drunk all day. That's Hennigans, the no-smell, no-tell scotch.

NO...Vodka is not the correct answer here.... Its Gin or Burban...Vodka WILL make you smell like you have had alcohol, even when you sweat, Gin and Burban are undectable unless you are being put to a breathalizer test.

Mm...I know everyone says vodka, but if you drink enough of it you'll definitely smell it. hot buttered rum isn't too bad, 'cause it's mixed with water and stuff. Or beer, if you don't drink too much of it you can't smell it.

If you're worried, just drink some pop and chew a couple pieces of gum after you're done. That's what I do ;)

vodka--tasteless/ odorless

All alcoholic drinks will make your breath smell like alcohol. Vodka is an unflavored liquor, NOT flavorless. This is a fairly common and persistent myth.

Notice that none of the definitions of vodka at the site linked to below say anything about it being flavorless.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and ask is the reason you want it to not leave an odor because you don't want your parents to find out? If this is the case, just be frank with them and ask. Have an open honest conversation with your parents. This will help to show your maturity and the results may surprise you.
