a slapjack is some sort of tool, but what kind and what is it's function? are they essential to bartending?

a slap jack is the flat bottle opener. Its a flattened piece of metal about six inches long with a round hole at the end and a bottle opener at the other. Depending on where you bartended at and what region it might have a different name.

A slapjack is a weapon ,like a leather & lead club.....maybe they mean a muddler? & yes, you need it to tend bar.
