You mentioned the Sauza Tequilla.. That's some good stuff. I like to buy that and pour it two shots of it into a half a cup of Maragrita mix. Shake it on the rox and there you go. Plain and simple but damn good!!
You had to tell us your life story just to ask for a margarita recipe????
My favorite margarita is a Grand Margarita :
1 oz. Grand Marnier
2 oz. tequila - I love patron!!
1 oz. lime juice (the recipe calls for fresh squeezed, but I prefer the taste of Rosa's sweetned lime juice).
Shake and strain into a glass. Drink, drink, and drink.
Hope you like it. ;)
The most important elements of a good margarita, in my humble opinion, are fresh-squeezed lime juice and the finest tequila you can afford to be drinking. "Cabo Wabo" is a pretty nice one as far as I'm concerned, but everyone's tastes will differ. I recommend you use an "Anejo" tequila rather than "Reposado" or "Blanco." "Anejo" is aged for over a year, whereas Reposado is 2-12 months and Blanco is less than 2 months. The extra aging imparts more flavor upon the tequila, giving that delicious taste that will serve as the backing to your margarita.
I love pomegranate juice and this is a nice spin on a Margarita!
One thing to also try with a regular Margarita is put just about 3-5 drops (I do mean drops) of orange juice it takes the bite you sometimes get with tequilla.
I make melon margaritas...
I just use Cuervo for mixing into drinks. :)
1 shot melon liqueur (like Midori)
1 shot tequila
1 shot Rose's Lime Juice
Sweet & Sour mix to taste
You can either blend this or use a cocktail shaker and strain it - either way is yummy. You can also do this with raspberry or green apple liqueur (Pucker works, too). :)
Use a decent 100% agave tequila- there are too many to name, and some are not that expensive. Silver gives a little more bite through the mixing, as it is not mellowed my aging in wood like reposados or anejos. Fresh lime squeezing is the key- no pre-made mixers (that's for rookies). A dash of o.j. doesn't hurt either for a little citrus kick. Cointreau, Citronge or Grand Marnier are the best way to add a little flavor from liqueur. A home-made 50/50 simple sugar blend (water/sugar solution) should be added to just take the edge off- no more or you risk a too sweet cocktail that will contribute to a hangover. The best, freshest ingredients will always yield the best libation, just as in cooking...
just buy the Margaritas mix and add the tequila and it is tasty. Go get the mix at any supermarket. Have fun!
