Is it bad to get drunk when you're sick?!

Question: I'm feel kind of sick, and I didn't really sleep last night. There's a bad party in a few hours, and I think i have a slight fever. Could I still drink a little? Don't tell me not to drink I just wanna know if it's bad.

Actually, alcohol kills germs, so drinking when you're sick is fine, and even good for you. Going to a party is a different story. I wouldn't advise going out while you have a fever, but staying home and drinking is fine.

I have friends, and I include myself in this, who almost never get sick because we drink so much.

i would say deffinetly its bad enogh getting drunk being at full health if your sick youlll just get sicker do not get drunk when sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it could make you worse. If your immune system is down, alcohol will knock it down more. If your tummy sick.....well you know what will happen worse if you drink.

I wouldn't drink to much cause it will probably make you feel worse. I've gotten drunk while being sick but I don't think it's that bad.

The alcohol will just react faster if you are sick because your body is not processing things at full capacity. If nothing else make sure that you are hydrated since the lower the water in the body the faster it processes alcohol. If you are sick in the morning at least you can try to blame it on your illness rather than drinking too much.

This trick is tried and true for me (and I'm not a drinker): if you feel a cold/flu coming, take a hot bath, drink some hot wine with honey, cinnamon and pepper, or something strong, go to bed. Next day you're like new.

Drinking causes dehydration, prevents you from sleeping (you don't get any real sleep while you're passed out and your body is digesting the alcohol), weakens your immune system, and interferes with medications, esp. antibiotics. That being said, this is a Friday night, so if you don't need to do anything tomorrow morning you can weigh feeling terrible in the morning versus skipping the party. I generally choose the former.
