Will a $3.50 bottle of merlot from Kmart taste good?!

Question: I really enjoy merlot. My absolute favorite is Benziger. But surprisingly, a $2.97 bottle of Oak Leaf from Wal-mart is good for cheap cheap cheap wine. Even tastes better than two buck chuck. Try it, it's only $3.50....

If you're already very, very drunk when you open the bottle... yeah, probably.

Its best served out of the bottle wrapped in a brown paper sack. I would invest a bit more and get a better quality of wine.

Nope
But a $22 bottle of 1995 or 1996 Beau Sejour Becot will blow you away! Or try a $20 bottle of 2002 Larcis-Ducasse

I sincerely doubt it, but you won't be losing much. If you've got a Trader Joe's near you, "two buck Chuck" is actually very good (Charles Shaw).

Chilean or Australian reds are also good for the price. They run about $7-10. One good one is Santa Rita 120 Merlot, or their Cabernet Sauvignon (about $8)

It'll taste just like a "KMart Bluelight Special" might, but then, I can't imagine even KMart could mess this up, but then, check which winery it came from. If it's only a KMart label on it, . . ., well, . . . , ahhh, it's only $3.50, so, give it a shot, if you're brave enough, lol. God Bless you.

Yeah, it'll go great with the burgers you buy at Mickey D's.

I find all merlots to be pretty bad. The difference between a "good" merlot and a mediocre to poor merlot is not much. Every winery in California makes a merlot, and the market has been over run and there is just nothing at all special about them. If you can find that one in a million excellent merlot, good for you, but you're going to have to pay for it. Otherwise they all just taste like merlots.

So yeah, your Kmart Merlot will taste like a merlot, and it definitely won't be any worse than the thousands of other grocery store merlots you'll find.

Enjoy your merlot, and know you saved money on packaging and name, its still gonna taste like a merlot.

edit: seriously, if justlilme is proving my point that you can buy walmart merlot that is better than Two Buck Chuck (and they won the 2007 state fair wine competition) for cheaper than your Kmart brand, then merlots are pretty average as a whole, and you're better off buying cheap merlot than expensive merlot, because the taste isnt' going to be that different.

NO !!!!!

no.never.ever.
