CHARDONNAY

ZINFANDEL

Answers:
They're all fairly average-to-low-end wines; not bad (most of them) but nothing that you'd serve if the Queen was coming over for dinner either.

Of those though, the Rancho Zabaco Zinfandel (depending on vintage) is probably the best of the bunch - full bodied, lots of berry tones and a bit of spice; definitely my favourite of the bunch.

The Turning Leaf Reserve Chardonnay is the only white wine you've got there, so it might be worth a try as well, although it's not one that I like at all. It's overly oaky and fairly harsh.

The Gallo of Sonoma Merlot is the worst of the bunch; I'd say it's pretty much plonk. Avoid unless you're really thirsty.

The Rosemount Shiraz is an Australian (the rest, except for the Ecco Domani are all from California) wine. Expect it to be big, bold, and have a touch of mint along with lots of red fruit flavours. This is really a wine to drink with steak.

The Italian, Ecco Domani Merlot, is much lighter than all of the others - it would probably be the best to enjoy with a meal. Lots of light cherry and plum notes, and a refreshing acidic streak.

Finally the Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon is a full bodied, cassisy wine, although possibly a bit too lush and overbearing.

Enjoy your drinks!

Robert Mondavi is a cool cat (I've met him) and he has decent wine.

Absolutely no merlot, especially from Gallo (they're a horrible family).

Ok so I 'm biased, but that's what happens when you grow up in Sonoma County, with a mother who works in the wine business and is also an alcoholic.

I think I had Merlot Ecco Domani already, too dry for me
I had something Gallo not sure if it was this one
I would try the Zinfandel I guess if it was Kosher

probably the rosemount shiraz although none of the wines you listed are particurly great

CHARDONNAY
Turning Leaf Reserve (--,)
