A hangover is caused primarily from dehydration, but there are other factors involved such as depletion of vitamins and minerals, withdraw from alcohol, liver trauma, swelling in the head and fatigue from poor sleep.
Getting hydrated is key, but if you drank a lot, you deplete your body of sodium which can make it difficult for you body to retain the water you drink.
Energy drinks such as gatorade, or pedialyte work well because they have the right balance of water/sodium and minerals etc. Get some greasy food in your system too. It will help coat your stomach. Pork and eggs are great because they are loaded with B-Vitamins which are also depleted from your system when you drink.
If you head is really pounding try putting a cold washcloth on your head. Or if you live near the beach, a jump in the cold ocean is the best hangover killer I know of!
If you feel up to it, exercise (make sure to drink lots of water etc.) and then a nap will make you a new person.
Prevention.
Take ibuprofen and drink lots of water.

Take some ibuprofen and drink a glass of cold water before going to bed. A hangover is basically being dehydrated. The water and ibuprofen will prevent/lessen the morning after headache.

Depends if I have work that day or not. If I have work, 2 or 3 containers of VitaCoco coconut water (I prefer peach/mango or tangerine flavors) will do the trick- they hydrate you more quickly than water. If I have the day off, 2 or 3 Bloody Marys will get the job done.

Scrambled eggs, beef hash, and toast. Add a side of sour kraut juice, V8 and three ibuprofen. Oh. Water. Lots of water. Water in the form of drinking water and steam in a sauna.

My favorite hangover cure is a big greasy fry up, bacon, sausages, fried eggs, beans and toast. washed down with a cup of tea.

Try taking caffeine containing liquids like colas or coffee.
Have cheese or pizzaas with a lot of cheese.
Caffeine and cheese help you recover from a hangover fast.
Beat youghurt with water and have that with a little salt to taste. This also will help you recover fast.
You may be dehydrated because of the drinks you had, have slightly cold water or lemon juice or fruits juices like oranges or pineapple. That will help you.
If you feel like throwing up, keep some salt within your mouth or have some candies.
