Does anyone know the best breathalyzer you can buy for your own use?!

Question: Hi I want to buy a breathalyzer for my son because I think he drinks and drives when he "feels ok" but I think he may be over the legal limit still. Does anyone know of a good breathalyzer that is accurate that I can buy so he can use it when he is drinking and know his blood alchohol content?

We use this model to test our temp employees. We hire day laborers often and many will show up intoxicated. As a precaution we require all day laborers to blow for us before starting work. We find it very useful and accurate.

Ye s pick the one that wont bust you?

You Can Buy One Off Ebay.

I don't know what market you're in, but just as a word of caution, Choice Magazine (the Consumer Association's publication in Australia) tested a number of personal breathalyzers and concluded that none of them were sufficiently reliable to warrant purchasing. They don't often make that sort of conclusion at all.

The results are available free online at http://www.choice.com.au/viewArticle.asp...

It's worth a read; even if they didn't test the brands you've found, their other advice and info could be helpful too.

And I know it's not what either of you want to hear, but education and moderation are key. The motto here for men is "rethink your third drink" (for women it's "rethink your second drink") - I think it's a good one.

Good luck!
