switch to whiskey?

The easiest answer would be to simply not drink rum, or at least not very much of it! If your "clammy" feeling is the result of a drunken night of fun with friends, then you have to let it run its course. Drinking lots of H2O is good, take some aspirin, get enough sleep, and eat a good breakfast of protein, fat and some carbs. Good luck!

don't drink rum? it's not like you can change the properties of rum to automatically make you feel better

dilute it maybe

You get that way because alcohol does not metabolize like other carbohyrates (it's a very complex carbohydrate) and when it is broken down it is still presenting a large amount of sugars in the blood stream. Insulin is not as effective in dealing with this flood and so the blood is overloaded and oxygen plus cell wastes are impeded from traveling. Cells are both poisoned some and starved of oxygen. Loss of oxygen capacity hinders the brain's activities and causes loss of body control in degrees.

Just so you understand, being intoxicated is a form of asphyxiation and a hangover is the lingering effects of this condition.

The only effective way to recover is to wait and simply recover. Nothing will really repair the damage other than your own body. Doing it over and over beyond some sort of normal expectations is possibly a problem and certainly everyday would hint at something. Your body won't recover so well eventually and liver, kidney, pancreatic diseases can be the result.

Ever heard the phrase, "Sleep it off"? They are absolutely correct.

just get a lot of rest it will go away after a while

Oddly enough I read in a book the best food to help with a hang over is cold pizza lol I eat it all the time :)

is that after any amount or excessively drinking....i would probably just toss the rum and go for the coke :)
