*Wilson Creek Almond Champagne is the BOMB. It is $17/bottle at the winery but can be found at Costco for $9/bottle. You can also get it at BevMo for about a tenner.
I am located about 1 hour south of Temecula where the winery is located so I am not sure if that is the reason San Diego Costcos carry this champagne, but if you can get your hands on it...your guests will be very impressed.
I love Korbel Brut (used to be around 10 ish) which is in a black bottle and super dry...good with cheese (or strawberries)
I also love Asti Spumante (not sure, though it's gotta be pretty inexpensive because I've had it plenty enough: nice crisp apply tones) which is awesome with rich chocolate torte or cheesecake, but my favorite is just a small dish of perfect strawberries, even one floating in my glass seems so elegant and actually does impart flavour to the bubbly wine....
And on the price? I've just enjoyed a discounted (from 60$) 35$ bottle of champagne (when I split up with my ex bf) and though yummy, it did not taste actually any better than the Korbel Brut (which is bottled in sexy-black!)....congratulations on your wedding!
one last tip if you find that situation too spendy you might be able to do a split of champagne, but if I were your guest I'd vote for the bottle...LOL
Try Prosecco, it is an Italian sparkeling wine and it is excelent. It is less then $20 a bottle.
Try Asti Spumante by Martini and Rossi; its a good champagne/sparlking white wine.... it won't break the bank @ $9.00/per bottle. Its a good bottle, a little bit on the sweet side and mixes well with orange juice or peach schapps
Good call on the prosecco from the other answer. Also check into cava, which is a common Spanish sparkler.
For me, Chandon makes the best middle-of-the-road champagne, specifically their California Brut. I usually see it in wine shops and grocery stores for $11-13, but many grocery stores will give a 10-20% discount on cases.
