How much is a bottle of Chateau Timberlay 1971 worth?!
The problem with wine "value" is that, just because a bottle is worth 500.00, doesn't mean it will sell at that price at auction or for trade. I think actual sellable value of a bottle is more important.
In your case, you bottle is worth about 100.00 US currency. This is approximate as I know for a fact the bottle has been sold for less in the past. I believe the reason your bottle is so old and yet fetches such a low price is because it was not vintaged. Most reds age to perfection at ten years, maybe more. But after 30+ years, a non vintaged bottle, even for a fortified red, is not usually good news. Most of the time bottles like yours are sold for collectability, the wine is often no longer drinkable.
