not true depend if you do have a driven liensce already then you can buy a pack of cigarettes fro m gas station. you just need to show him or her who work there and gave youre ID with a photo and with youre birthday adate on it then they can gave you one. but it depend where youre going buy . but in most california towns has a illegal about have to be older to be able buy a packages of cigarettes .

It's not true. You can buy cigarettes the day you turn 18. It's completely legal-- as long as you have a legit driver's license for proof (in case they ask).
Go to a different store. The person working might have been ignorant.
