I spent 3 1/2 years in Japan, and there was a brand of sake in which they sewed a Habu snake's mouth shut and dropped it into the bottle, quite alive, before capping it. The snake dies, of course and the sake turns a golden color, kind of like Cuervo. I resisted the temptation to buy a bottle as a conversation piece and take it back to the US with me because it was expensive stuff. I was offered a slug from a bottle that a Japanese friend opened, but one whif was all I needed to turn it down. The stuff smelled strongly of dead reptile. No thanks.

Dont know about the Chinese but I live in Mexico and you get Rattlesnake Tequilla, a huge Jar containing the whole snake except for its head. Its good but it made me crazy so I dont drink it anymore. CHEERS!!!
i have seen this on the travel channel. i can't believe the things the chinese will eat or drink. the do not believe in wasting any part of an animal. yuk.
