Why does stella make people turn nasty?!

Question:

Why does stella make people turn nasty?

Ive split up with 2 boyfriends now because i was such a ***** to them while drinking stella
Anyone know why it does this to me?

Answers:
It does it to a lot of people apparently. It's nicknamed "wifebeater" in England, so i hear. It's stronger than the regular lagers, so i think it gets you drunk that bit quicker. I do find i get a bit irrated when drinking it myself. I try not to drink more than one or two of it when i'm out.

Cuz their not hard core enough to drink it... maybe they're just nasty anyway!!

if you cant handle it dont drink it..... god self explanitry or what

Maybe it is the alcohol and not the brand of beer?

it could be the chemical balance in stella does not react well with your body try drinking something different if it happens with all drink cut your drinking down

Up here in Bonnie Scotland we call it "Wifebeater"

It's not just you. Who knows why it turns people nasty.

Steller has this unfortunate nickname of 'wife beater' but by no means does this justify the actions of the people who drink it. If your ex-boyfriend know this is how they behaved and truley cared, they wouldn't drink it.

Certain people react badly to certain drinks. I have known a couple of people who could turn particularly nasty after drinking vodka, and one after drinking whiskey. I would suggest you just avoid this particular drink and find another which suits you better.

Thats why its call WIFE BEATER lol....
I figure it is to strong..... last time I drank Stella.... I was pole dancing and apparently being real dirty.... I dont know I cant remember.... so I stay well away from the stuff now! lol

Some people just have reactions to certain kinds of alcohol that turn them into someone else. For that reason, my boyfriend cannot drink brandy - if he does it again I'll leave him, he turns into a b**tard!

The link between premium lager and violence has long been accepted but not proven. A couple of years ago I used research on the matter for a university essay, and at that time the link between premium lagers such as Stella and domestic violence was being studied.

The broad reasoning is that these lagers are higher in alcohol content and so the drinker becomes intoxicated more quickly than when drinking other lagers - often getting past their comfort zone quickly. Alcohol is a toxin to the body and causes many side effects, including mood swings, often violence.

Some people do not behave this way with premium lagers, but different drinks affect different people in many ways - I'm sure you know plenty of people with interesting stories!

Sorry to hear that you've met the ones who go mental on Stella. Get back out there and find someone new, but make sure you see them drunk before you commit!!

because Alcohol contrary to what we've all been told, is a drug like any other & a nasty drug at that.
i've never met a drunk on stella, that i liked.
i'd rather be locked in a room with someone with the worse form of tourettes, than a drunk!
scientists have said for a while now that most alcoholic drinks are full of hormones & carcinogens.
maybe a hormone imbalance is the cause of most drunks outrageous behaviour.
Maybe?
:)

"In vino veritas"..... booze often times makes people say what they really think.
Get the message?

ill tell ya why...stella is just nasty beer! like whiskey.tequilla, and vodka...it has a nasty reaction and brings the worst out of some people! try drinking molson canadian, were all friendly! lol.

i think people need to read your question more closely, seems everyone is too quick to blame your boyfriends.

As for an answer to why YOU become a ***** when YOU drink, likely it has to do with the higher alcohol content by volume (ABV) then you are used to. Oftentimes a Belgian ale may have 2-3 times the alcohol content of a lager or a pilsner.

because thats what alcohol does to a small minority--------don't drink it---particularly on your own ----too much collateral damage

I'm not sure why Stella turns people into a*** h**** but round my way we call in wife beater. Loads of my friends have banned them selves form drinking it. Maybe you should abstain from it and drink Carling instead (it is a bit rank though to be fair)

Don't blame the Stella, try drinking something else like Hurlimans

Now that's an interesting question!

Firstly don't drink the stuff. Stella first became available in this country in the late 60s and has been a problem since then. It's 5.2 ABV & other premium lagers are usually 5. So it's not the strength that the problem.

You're among many girls who've lost their b/f through Stella & in my job I meet men who've lost more - wives, kids & their freedom!

So fcuk it off! Drink Carling Export, Grolsch, Kronenbourg or whatever, but not Stella!

As to your question, hopefully you'll get an answer from one of our Belgian brothers..

like most lagers brewed in the uk stella contains many additives it is not a pure lager , drink budvar or bitburger imported from the country of origin.

stella is wreck the hoose juice! try their new one, peetermans, has a lower alcohol content - 4% tastes nice but not as lethal!
