Which beer is beter than Chimay?!

Question:

Which beer is beter than Chimay?

Answers:
While this is a wholly subjective question, I can recommend a few you might like if you really like Chimay. First of all, which Chimay have you had? Most people seem to like the "blue label" which is called "Grande Reserve." This is a Belgian strong dark ale. Actually one of only six breweries in Belgium that is considered a Trappist brewery.

Chimay is good ...very good.

But if you like Chimay, you may well enjoy St. Bernardus Abt 12, also from Belgium. Some say this beer is comparable to Westvleteren 12, which is one of the rarest and highest rated beers in the world. I'd had both and I have to say I agree. "St. Bernie's" is one of my very favorite beers.

Want something similar, but easier to find, try Brewery Ommegang "Ommegang" - from Cooperstown , NY ... or Unibroue Maudite (Canada).

Drink less ... drink better!

Guinness its Brilliant!!!!

Chimay is pretty darn good, but I also like Fin du Monde: http://www.unibroue.com/products/fin.cfm...

Happy drinking!

beer is bad....

MGD

Only different at that level, sometimes home brew comes out so good it could be described as better than any commercial beer but generally when they are that good you are arguing about differences in taste and opinion.

Guinness Stout

la fin du monde or trois pistoles are about the same type of chimay but still have their own distinct taste. i would also go to duvel or hennepin farmhouse. these are all belgian style ales and you wont be dissappionted. i wouldnt recommend changing drasticaly like some people have mentined, like going to mgd, because the taste is radical between them.

It's not the same taste but I'm all over Stella Artois and Lindemann's Framboise Lambic. They are very different from Chimay but each is a great choice.

Duvel, for one. Delirium Tremens, for another.

Do you want me to continue with Belgium beers, or go to other styles?
