There are lots of good places to look for bottles and cans. You can look at a local school if they have a recycling program. You can find bottles and cans in recycle bins before recycling trucks come and pick them up and you can also find them along the side of the road.
Big city streets, expecially outside of bars.

Walk around a college town. They are all over the place here in Morgantown.
Look in recycling bins in wealthier apartment complexes. A lot of people don't take the trouble to return the cans for their deposit.
