I have 2 overnight stops in London, what's the best beer to drink while I'm there?

Answers:
You will likely get completely trashed if you are used to drinking "Bud"... be careful!

Just ask for a pint of "best" (Best Bitter) at a couple different pubs. You'll discover that outside the US, a lot of beer actually has a quality they call "flavour"! LOL.

Cheers! Have a great trip, and don't drive!

P.S. There are literally thousands of great beers "over there", but if you get the chance, try a pint of "TEA", or "Traditional English Ale", a brew from Hog's Back Brewery, in Farnham, Surrey. I think they have it at the Pakenham Arms, Clerkenwell, in London WC1...

Try the local ones, don't forget they serve real beer there.PS don't forget your Maple leaf.

If you're going to London, don't even ask for Bud...you'll get thrown out of the Pub. Drink what the local's drink. You may not like the sound of it, but Guinness is a good route, and it's good. New Castle is another brown ale that has good flavor. You can always go for Foster's...that always works too. Harp, and Bass are a couple of other good ones.

You could actually drink the REAL Budweiser... (see the wikipedia artical below). Many people dont realize that the name "Budweiser" was a Czech beer before Anheuser-Busch started marketing their beer under that name.

That beer tastes fantastic over there and its way better then Bud anyways.

Budweiser? Now why would you drink a rice beer. Be smart and ask for a Miller Lite.

Try Bass pale ale. It's a British beer and it tastes quite good...........

Unfortunately the American Budweiser is sold in Britain. I think the Czech is sold only as Budvar. In the USA it is now sold as Czechvar. The two companies have been fighting trademark battles in the courts around the world.

If you can find it Heinekin export on tap. Stay away from the hand pumped cask ale.
