yep
and can have long-term effects
not wise if yo're already neurotic

some of the proper stuff might make you hallucinate, i had a shot of my 85% the other week and within 20 mins i was drunk for like 30 mins was mental

Not the stuff you get in the US.

I've heard it does, but isn't it illegal in the US?
And no, it was Vincent Van Gogh.

Absinthe can have a bizarre effect on some people and make them do very very strange things

I was always told that absynthe makes the heart grow fonder....... Sorry, but the old ones are the best, they say!

yesss.....:]

Yes, one of the main ingredients is wormwood. At potent levels, wormwood is poisonous. The levels in absinthe are low enought that they poison you into a happy, sometimes hallucinogenic state of drunkeness. Yes, I have been drunk on Absinthe, and no, it did not make me hallucinate. It did make me feel and awesome type of drunk.

I've noticed that something called absinthe has become available in the UK in the last few years. I don't know whether it's the old stuff and I don't fancy putting it to the test.

I like a drink and I'm not bothered about the ABV ( Wray & Nephew's, red Stroh & you can get even worse in Poland, Russia, Ireland or even Italy).

What I don't want though is to be poisoned & driven mad by the addition of wormwood! The French banned it 60 years ago. Look it up!

If you get some of the real stuff, try Habu-saki. bt if it is absynthe expect to pay 100 dollars a bottle

The original did and made Van Gogh cut off his ear.
That stuff is not available in any country, at any price, nowadays.

It is true, but bear in mind that Van Gogh had been drinking Absinthe everyday for many years before it made him cut off his ear, not just a one night binge at his local.
