Any homebrewers out there?
I'm going to start home brewing my own beer, and I want to start with a kit for my first try. Which is the best kit to use for a first-timer? I'm looking for something that will be easy and give me a strong chance of getting a good result. Also I want something that tastes good. Ideas? Suggestions?

go to a local beer supply store they will tell you every thing that you will need to know to get started
i helped my uncle make wine, he make his own kit with tubes an glass bottles he got from a hardwear store i thenk..make sure u have someone to help u out in a pinch!! ?
My brother and I both use a Mr. Beer. It's really simple but with the flexibility to brew more complex and induvidualized types of beers in the future. All the varieties we have tried so far have been drinkable to excellent, with the less tasty beers resulting from our inexpertise rather than the system. I would highly recommend it for a starter.

Find a local homebrew supply store and a local homebrewing club. Don't go with Mister Beer or the Beer Machine as these kits make inferior beer.
That kit goes against everything that being a homebrewer is about. Don't waste your time or money.
Order a book entitled "The Complete Joy of Homebrewing" by Charlie Papazian. Here is the Amazon link:

It is inexpensive and it is the basic bible for beermaking that every good homebrewer starts with. Papazian will guide you to making good, tasty beer right away that YOU control. Take an hour or two to read the first chapters and then go to the homebrew shop with some knowledge in your back pocket. You will be glad you did.
Every homebrewer I know who started with "kits" regretted it!
