Hi,
Vodka is 40% proof with alcohol v/v. Means it contains 40% alocohol.
The fact that you get tipsy with one drink and go wasted after the second may be because of so many reasons. Your age, whether you are tired or upset, whether you had some food within 2 hours before or during the drinks, how quickly you had the drink-, whether you gupled it down or sipped slowly, what you mixed with it - was it cola, soda, water or fruit drinks, so many parameters also contribute to one getting tipsy or drunk while having drinks.
To avoid these.. make sure you have some food before you have drinks, make sure the vodka is a good brand, mix the vodka with water or fruit juice rather than colas or sodas, restrict drinks when you are tired or upset, drink some water or fruit juice in between your drinks, have some food like cheese or pineapple slices or chicken (try to have oilless food) while having the drinks. You will do better.
Learn to drink responsibly... Take care.. Cheers..

Vodka is quite strong, 40%abv and your cherry stuff with the sugar in it speeds up absorbtion.

Vodka is 40% alcohol by volume. 1 shot of vodka is equal to one beer or one glass of wine. The bartender is legally aloud to put 2 1/2 shots into one drink so 2 drinks could really be 5 shots of alcohol

vodka is really strong.....they are aloud to put 2 1/2 in one drink thats rite soo yeah u would be wasted!!!!!!!!

fairly strong, I can drink a pint and be semi wasted heh

vodka is quite tastless thats why its so nice with juices,, but it is 37 % proof e.g. beer is about 4 % or 5% .. wine is roughly 18 % .... so but when you mix one shot of vodka with juices to a standard size drink its obviously much less % per volume /// but it does creep up on you ... you could try asking for one half a shot in one drink .. also some vodka is much stronger than others you should always read the label ..

Most flavored vodka is 70 proof or 35% alcohol by volume. If you are mixing it with sour mix, there may be more than one shot (1.5 oz.) in the drink. This could account for the woozy feeling. If you drink one drink per hour you should not feel this sickness.
