If it is an evening party bring red wine, afternoon party bring white wine. If you are talking about a keg, beer style kid party definantly vodka.
Tequila and limes if it is a dance/crazy party. Big bottle of red wine if it is a more relaxed get together.
Wine. A lot of people enjoy that..
Vodka.........mixes with a lot of different juices,soda etc
Coolers..........can get a variety..
You could give Kahlua, Amaretto, or Frangelico...but you can be different, bring a pound of whole or ground premium coffee beans and couple of cute, seasonal mugs.
Take a bottle of $20 California (Napa) Chardonnay. At worst nobody will care at best they'll love it. But it will not be a mistake and you won't be responsible for the person that drank the vodka and had an accident getting home.
Bring a bottle Bailey's Irish Cream for dessert drink.
What do you generally like? I like rum a lot so I might bring a bottle of Pyrat XO and a small OJ as a mixer... My girlfriend likes Jack Daniels and Coke. The XO has a great sweet flavor with hints of citrus that are really brought out with the OJ. It also goes well with coke and it is only about $20 a bottle. Plus you get the awesome bottle that it comes with and a little metal medallion with a Buddha looking guy on it... He is the patron saint of rum or something like that. I save the medallions from all my bottles.
