This article is about a software synthesizer. For alcoholic drink, see Absinthe.
Absynth is a commercial, proprietary software synthesizer, currently in its 4th generation, available on the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS platforms. Developed by Native Instruments GmbH, it combines a range of traditional synthesis techniques (subtractive) and modern (granular, sample-based) to create complex sounds and timbres. It may be used either as a stand-alone program or as a plugin within digital audio workstation (DAW) software such as Logic Pro or Cubase.
You can find absinthe at the below sites.

If you live in the U.S., nowhere. Highly illegal.
If you live in Europe, you've got a better chance.
It can only be purchased in Europe, or from certain bootleggers here in the states. Its illegal to have in the USA. Plus a friend of mine had it and said that is just makes you sick. No hallucinations. So did another guy I know who lives in Germany.
There are many on-line stores in Europe that will ship to the United States. However, it is pricey to pay for shipping and it is illegal in the U.S. Many liquor stores in the U.S. sell a product by Pernod (the top maker of Absinthe), but it does not contain wormwood, which is the active ingredient.
Absinthe is banned in the US and can't be bought in stores.
Absinthe won't cause hallucination and has never caused hallucinations. If you are looking for something to make you hallucinate you will be disappointed.
It does not make you hallucinate. If you're talking about the EuroTrip, it's just a movie. All that stuff will do is make you sick.
In Canada you can purchase Absinthe right at the Liquor Store.I buy it all the time,it's never made me hallucinate. It just makes you really drunk.
You can't buy Absinthe in the states for 1 bogus reason. It was banned many years ago because people thought it made you hallucinate. Now that we know it doesn't, the government still won't legalize it, most likely because of the high alcohol content in some brands. (It's similar to moonshine). People drank it in Paris during the Renaissance and it was popular amongst the poets. It's also known as the green fairy. If you have any desire to see Moulin Rouge, the effects of "the green fairy" are all over that movie. I bought some just recently in Greece. It's not very tasty but a small sip will get you pretty drunk. It's supposed to be drunk with a cube of sugar on a slotted spoon and the absynthe poured over that. The root used to make the alcohol is VERY bitter and the sugar helps to sweeten it up and makes it bubbly. Anyway, you will be dissapointed if you're expecting to trip off this stuff. You're better off going to a Nascar race and getting your hands on some good moonshine! :)
Absinthe in the form that causes hallucinations is illegal in the USA, however you can purchase Absinthe here that is made using a different class of flower that does not cause the hallucinations. A quote: "A faux-absinthe liquor called Absente, made with southern wormwood (Artemisia abrotanum) instead of regular wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), is sold legally in the United States and does not contain thujone."
As everyone else has already said, it doesn't make you hallucinate. Whoever said you can buy it in Canada is also partly wrong. We have liquor stores up here that sell something under the same name, but has lightly different ingredients. I did bring some home with me (through USA customs at that, oops) from Prague a few years ago and it was way too fun, so I vowed to never drink it again, too easy to get out of control, and the rumours are true that it makes you very sick the next day! If you're out to get drunk though I'd hope you'd expect that anyway! Either way, the stuff sold in Canada is half decent and the closest thing you'll get to the real European stuff. Be sure to melt it with sugar as someone else suggested, and then shake it w/ ice before shooting it; it will go down much smoother!
if you live in the uk you can get it in tescos
