Anyone else think Vodka is massively overrated?!

Question:

Anyone else think Vodka is massively overrated?

Maybe I'm being a bit of a snob but sometimes I think Vodka is so overrated. I'll grant that it is very versatile. But does anyone actually enjoy drinking it without a mixer. And Gin Martini's are great! I hate that practically orders Gin Martini's anymore. It just seems like some people get stuck on Vodka and never learn or appreciate the other spirits. It bothers me sometimes.

Answers:
Hello! I do agree that people get stuck on vodka and never venture to try anything new, absolutely! I, however, do enjoy drinking vodka with no mixers. I'm Russian and our whole family enjoys vodka on the rocks, but I will admit to being a snob as to what kind of vodka I am willing to drink straight. A nice treat is a twist of lime in it to shake things up!

It is.

I sip on straight Paul Masson Brandy myself.

i remember when a martini was just gin, vermouth and an olive...oh, the good ole days when life was simpler

I think all alcohol is massively overrated.

It's generally cheap and leaves no odor on the breath. That's why it's popular.

I like Vodka every once in a while but I'm a Tequilla girl myself =P

yuck, i hate it, bud lite and yaeger, go easy on the yaeger though, it hurts the next day.

MMmmmmm I love drinking vodka straight or with a mixer. It is definitely not overrated. It is the best hard alcohol.

Try something that will actually cost you money as opposed to a fifth in some plastic container. Vodka is like most things in life... the more it costs the better it tastes.

I enjoy the better made vodkas due to their smoothness. The marketing has been very effective. Hence their overrated status.
