What kind of alcohol goes with Indian food?!

Question: Beer... specifically IPA. IPAs (India Pale Ales) were first brewed for the Indian subcontinent during British Colonial rule. More hops and higher alcohol content allowed the beer to last over the long sea voyage.
Hops go to battle with spices, such as curry. The often intensify heat of spices, but bring out more of the actual spice flavor. The high amount of malt is good to coat the palate and protect from too much spice. The generally high carbonation levels act as a palate cleaner, quickly wiping away flavors and making room for the next bite.
A perfect match.
