Why do people like jack daniels whiskey so much?
for example if you ask what the best whiskey was, alot of people would respond with "jack daniels". but why? its very common, cheap, and not of the highest quality. but people seem to realy enjoy it. but why? what makes it better and more enjoyable compared to th other fancy whiskeys like crown royal or something like that?

I actually like Maker's Mark or Knob Creek, but my best friend grew up in TN and his favorite is JD. And believe me, it ain't THAT cheap.
It makes me nauseous just smelling it.
I think it's the marketing, they do a great job. Crown really isn't that much better but Basil Hayden is great! My favorite is Makers Mark and I'm suprised at how many places don't carry it. I know what you mean though, it does seem like Jack really gets a free ride, most bars even keep it in thier speed rail. I'm with you...not my favorite, but like I said they are great at marketing. One thing I do approve of is the fact that Jack Daniels is one of the only whiskey companies that vows not to use genetically modified grains in the production....that's pretty great.
it is cheap, and i know alot of people dont like it for the taste of jack. maybe those people just havent had a really good tasting expensive whiskey.
