If you are interested in starting to homebrew wine, I would recommend first that you pick up a copy of C.J.J. Berry's book 'First Steps in Winemaking'. I would also recommend you check out http://winemaking.jackkeller.net/ and http://www.winemakingtalk.com/forum/inde... for some great recipes and online sources.

You will want to check out your local homebrew shop for a winemaking 'starter kit'. These kits have all the equipment you need to make 5 gallon batches of wine. If you don't have a local homebrew shop, look online at http://www.midwestsupplies.com or http://www.northernbrewer.com .

Once you get the starter kit, you have two options for ingredients. The first is to pick up a wine kit from the homebrew shop. These kits include all the ingredients you need for 5 or 6 gallon batches (5 or 6 gallons depending on the brand). These kits will make standard wines like anyone can buy in the store, most all varieties of grape juices and concentrates are available. Your other option is to use your own ingredients and a recipe you create or find online. Most 'country wines' (no grapes involved) are made this way using fresh fruit, berries, honey, etc.

Feel free to email me if you have any further questions.

just let some grape juice sit in the fridge for a few years,,,,

Go to your local homebrew store. They have info on wine kits and how to get started. Of course the best homemade wine is BEER!
