What kind of shoes should a bartender wear?!

Question:

What kind of shoes should a bartender wear?

They should be three things is my guess, this is just a guess, Compfortable, should probably be flats, and water proof? The thing is, Water proof shoes all look, um.....not very stylish. do they have to be water proof? If the bartender works behind a bar and stands all day getting ice etc, then they should get ones like these, but a plain black version is my guess, would that be right : http://www.paragonsports.com/paragon/ima...

But if you work at a place where your going to have your feet noticed more you could get away with canvas slip ons like keds maybe or something like these?http://images.delias.com//152468_blk_g.j...

Answers:
If you are lugging around kegs of beer, I highly recommend steel capped boots/shoes

I broke 4 toes with a full keg of beer landing on them.

shoes that you wouldn't mind getting alcohol on or dirty. maybe black shoes~~i like the first link in the first paragraph better

black dress shoes

I don't think I would wear any of those doing a job like that.
I guess it all depends on your taste.

I just know you want comfortable, from my experience. Very few (if any) people will even see your feet (dim lighting, and the bar itself obscure the view).

something comfortable, crocks should be good

Black sude shoes would be the best but wear hell or arch supports with them so they can be as comfortable as possible.

P.S- if u decide to go with my answer make sure the arch or heel supports are rite for u

I luv the shoe

Unless you are working in an aquarium your shoes shouldnt have to be waterproof, but, you do want something water or stain resistant.

The first two samples are too flat. You will need something with arch support to help your back and you want something with a thick sole to act as a cushion between your feet and the ground.

Another option is to use two different pairs of shoes throughout the night. It helps to take pressure off your legs and feet as well.

You can't go wrong with "Shoes for Crews". Used them for years. Check out their website of the same name.

About a year ago I worked for a medical supply company that specialized in diabetic footwear. Diabetics must be very careful about the shoes they wear because they often have poor circulation and partial paralysis in their feet, so any blisters or joint irritations can cause SERIOUS infections. Diabetic shoes are AMAZINGLY comfortable and durable. (Durable because they are paid for so often by Medicare-type health insurance companies that will only pay for one pair per year.) You would be surprised by how many people in the service industry came to our store to buy diabetic shoes. Admittedly, many of the styles may look like "grandma" shoes because, let's face it, that demographic is the shoe companies' main clientele. If you do a little searching, however, you'll find that there are a few styles that are attractive AND super comfy. Plus they are almost always genuine leather, waterproof, skidproof, and provide great arch support.
