any brand of havanna cigars

Anything Cuban usually a really good smoke....Cohibas are exellent if you can find them....Romeo and Juliettas are pretty good also.....

I don't know much about cigars, but my dad LOVES cigars. For Christmas I bought him a really nice cigar that he LOVED! It was a Perdomo. I would recommend that. But you can also go to a cigar store and they can recommend some that are good.

you can't do better than a Fuente Fuente Opus X ($$$) but a more reasonably priced option is a Padron or a Punch Grand Cru.

Defenitely Havannas.......................

Arturo Fuente, Macanudo, Te Amo, and Don Diego. These are good brands. The appeal of Cuban cigars is they are grown next to sugar cane fields and the tobacco gains a sort of natural sweetness from this. There are many equally good ones grown in The Dominican, Nicaragua and other places.

Here is a web site to look at them. Go to a local cigar shop and tell them what you are looking for and they will help you out. Most can assist you pretty well if you tell them you are new at this.

But as most have said nothing beets a Cuban if you can get them.

First question I'd ask in reply is whether you want to buy him a box of cigars, or one extra-special one.
If a box, maybe Punch or Romeo y Julieta from sizes panatella upwards.
If you want to get him one truly memorable smoke, I'd suggest a Montecristo Churchill. It'll last him all day.

Cohibas, Monte Cristos, Padrons, Macanudos, Fuentes, Romeo Y Julites. Suggest you look at JR Cigars and Thompson Cigar websites. Look in his humidor to see what he smokes

If you want good cigars at a good price, you can check online at http://www.cigarbid.com
You won't find more affordable smokes anywhere, and they're all top-shelf, premium hand-rolled.
If you're looking to get just one really nice one, I'd recommend any of the limited edition Fuente sticks, in particular Fuente Fuente Opus XX, but you'll pay about $30-$50 depending on the size and vintage.
If you'd rather get a box of really good cigars that won't break your pocketbook, I recommend Punch, CAO (Italia and Brazilia are the best), or Gurkha (if you can find them on sale).
