What's the difference between wine and champagne?!

Question:

What's the difference between wine and champagne?

oh, and which catagory does 'arbor mist' fall under? or is it in its own category?

Answers:
Champagne is a sparkling wine specifically made in the Champagne region of France. Sparkling wines undergo a secondary fermentation in the bottle to make them fizzy, unlike wine. Never had Arbor Mist, so I don't know about that one.

Wine is fermented in vats and then bottled. Champagne is fermented in the bottle, so it has bubbles that wine does not have. Arbor Mist is wine that has some sort of flavorings and things added to it. It is more like a wine cooler.

Champagne comes from champagne region in france and wine is a generic term for any fermented drink made from grapes. Arbor mist is a cheap commercial beverage containing some wine but is neither wine nor champagne. More like a wine cooler.

champagne is made only in specific area of France no other region in the world can produce a wine with champagne on the bottle except this region alternatively any place in the world that can ferment a fruit or veg table can call it wine
also champagne has to contain three grape varieties 1.chardonnay 2. pinot noir 3. pinot meunier to be classed as a champagne

Actually, Kevin Cullinan is wrong. Although Champagne has to be from Champagne in order to put that name on the label, it does not have to contain all three grape varietals in order to be called Champagne. Most Champagne is a blend of the three, but you can also have a pure Chardonnay (blanc de blancs) or a pure Pinot Noir (blanc de noirs). Or, it could be a blend of only two of the varietals.

Champagne and wine are made the same way with the bottling method being the major difference. Champagne is conditioned to have co2.
