Do you all like JD Wetherspoon's pubs?!

Question: I'm a fan of their decent ales at competitive prices and some of their food is not bad, but I get the impression some people have a rather sneering attitude towards this pub chain. What do you think?

Hiya! I like JD Wetherspoons pubs - the food there is very decent, and you can get 2 meals for less than six quid (I like the veggie chili and me old man gets the sausage and mash :o) x) I don't really understand why people would turn their noses up at Wetherspoons - their drinks are reasonably priced, and I've spent many a happy afternoon in my local - eating and having a few jars with my mates, so I would say... Thumbs UP for Wetherspoons! x

They're ok, but they're a bit boring. No pool tables, no music, no dart boards. Just fruit machines. Not much fun for us ladies.

I like Weatherspoons because there pretty cheap, and the atmosphere isn't bad. The only thing about my local is it's pretty much like going to a school reunion! Everyone is always in there, and if u want a quiet drink u can't always guarentee not to bump into someone u don't like, an ex or even you dad!!! A little embarassing!

I think they're a bit soulless

My family and friends avoid Weatherspoons like the plague!

The branches around our area provide rubbish, off-hand service, if you can get the bar staff to stop gossipping with their mates!

The beer is cheap because they always buy near out-of-date hooch!........... so you often get vinegary beer...........

Suffice it to say, they are frequented, around our way, by the alkies and cheapo's who tend to make up the banned pub-goers around our borough!............ That is why few decent people patronise them!............ not unless you want to be run over by some mad man in a car!

YEP! It happens all too regularly!.......... They are AWFUL!!!!!!!!

I think the ale is good value and a reasonable range.
Some are OK but others I won't go to again.

I like the fact that you can sit and have a quiet meal and a chat, without all the background noise and distractions. I can go across the road to the next pub for that. I have two in the town centre where I live and 3 where I belong. All totally different, so I don't think you can generalise and say that you like them or you don't.

Well, they are a bit boring, although apparently, they do good food. I can't say, as I haven't eaten there.

They're the best!-(trying to keep a straight face here cos I work for JD Wetherspoon) The food is brilliant(I work kitchen and bar) and the beer is fab!

what could be better than enjoying a real ale in pleasant company and being able to here what your all talking about.
I`m definitely for them, cant stand pubs with pissy lagers and boom, boom, boom music when you order a drink you get some twat barman going "eh whats that then".

Bring back smoking in pubs so I can light up my pipe.

Yeah, they're not bad at all, and usually fairly reasonably priced.....which is so annoying when you use the one in Birmingham Airport and find that its twice as expensive as any of the others!! What a rip off?

yeah the one up ma way is great al young folk that serve behind the bar great banter and great music

The Wetherspoons in my area is frequented by all the local undesirables, chavs, drunks and binge-drinkers. They flock to the cheap booze, as one would expect. I suspect this is the same across much of the country.

Personally, I'd rather stay at home than go there.
