Have you ever mixed icecream with wine?!

Question: Not a good combo

Answers: Not a good combo

Actually, there are a few variety of wine that can be mixed with ice cream and sorbet.

What you are looking for are wines that are fruity, at least somewhat sweet and possibly sweet, and lower in alcohol in content. Also, this wine should be low in tannin, which is bitter. What ice cream and sorbet (ie cold temperature) would do to wine is to bring out the bitterness of the wine as well as some of the alcohol flavor. As for ice cream, you want something that is not too overpowering such as chocolate. A medium sweet ice cream would be most optimal for this combination.

As a result, I would choose a wine such as Riesling or Gewurtztraminer and mix them with lighter ice cream such as Vanilla or Strawberry. I would also use blender to blend them so that the wine will be evenly distributed rather than puddled at one locatoin. Serve in small portion and you may add some fruit cocktail as well. Give this a try.

Cheers.

no i haven't. but i have found that if you put ice cream in a blender with kahlua it is pretty good.

ice cream drizzled in brandy is good

no, and who did is crazier than hell

Many years ago I served the "Green Stuff" at parties.

1 gal cheap wine
1 gal ginger ale
1 quart lime sherbet
a few limes chopped
vodka - pint to quart
2 lb ice

If you use a quart if vodka, plan on some people spending the night.

I have and I don't think I will ever do it again. I do like juice and wine.

No, never... but a chocolate covered biscotti dipped in red wine is marvelous.

No I haven't.

Champagne with a teaspoon of lime sherbert is great!

I've had a beer milkshake (John Steinbeck's invention), but never ice cream and wine.

Actually, there is an ice cream company that makes a Chocolate Cabernet flavored ice cream. Laloo goat milk ice cream I think It's called. I'll look it up for spelling for you. I haven't had it yet, but I hear from food critics, it's excellent.http://www.goatmilkicecream.com/
here ya go.

you need the right wine. In Colorado they sell a locally made cherry wine, it's pretty on ice cream - it isn't very good to drink on it's own.

i use to make a float with pineapple soda and frozen peach yogurt.

Of course. With champagne.
