What is your favorite beer? Afficianatos only please!?
I am looking at trying some new beers and pride myself on being kind of a snob. Unfortunately I don't have access to many different brews but do have a store that will custom order anything I want. I am from San Diego county CA so I am close to Stone and love it, what else is out there?
Answers:
Rouge, Hair of the Dog, Sam Smith, Orval, Duvel, Anderson Valley....l could go on.
Check out ratebeer.com They have thousands of members (myself included) that rate thousands of beers with good descriptions of style taste etc.
You are lucky to be near Stone...I LOVE their beers.

Corona, or pacfico
I brew my own.
try Lone Star and Shiner Bock, two Texas favorites.
All snobs like Shiner, but not all Shiner drinkers are snobs.
Hands down Moosehead or Heineken
The kind of beer I like, when I go out to a restaurant or something, is typically Shiner Bock. It's full bodied, and has taste. And there's usually some of that in my fridge. My favorites, which are lots stronger are the lines of German beers, although I'm not a real fan of the DARK beers. Hofbrau Original is really good, and I've given it 3 stars. I also like the German wheat beers, like the Paulsners. The Dunkel line is good; Lowenbrau Dunkel, Warsteiner Dunkel, and Erdinger Dunkel Weisen. I don't know how available those would be in CA, but here in Texas you can't buy any of those in stores, only in specialty restaurants.
Victory Hop Devil from Downingtown, PA
Stoudts Triple Mai Bock-Adamstown, PA
Belgians-Chimay, LaChouffe, Hoeegarden, Stella Artois
German weissbeir- HackerPschorr
mine is Rebel garnet...it's a Czech beer, very very tasty, is an amber beer.
Lager - Samuel Adams
Stout - Murphy's
Ale - Blue Moon
Guinness Extra Stout, Guinness Stout, Guinness Extra Cold and Guinness Foreign Stout are the best. I have fallen in love with my Guinness and have yet to be disappointed.
has to be blue moon
Negra Modelo a very good cerveza oscuro.
heineken
Definitely try Widmer Hefeweizen. It is an excellent wheat beer that you should be able to get at any grocery store in San Diego. It is also usually on tap at most restaurants. A lot of people drink it with a slice of lemon or orange to liven up the taste although it tastes great without it. If you are looking for a beer that isn't dark, hoppy, or bitter, this is a great one to try!
German Beer DAB
Pilsner Urquell
Depends on what taste you're looking for, but for me it doesnt get any better than:
Newcastle Brown Ale.. It looks strong, but isnt. It's like drinking candy in a bottle.
there is a great micro brewery in kalamazoo michigan called Bell's. they have a summer brew called Oberon. it's by far the best wheat beer i've ever had. it's alot like blue moon but better. a little twist of orange in it really balances the strong hops. i'm not sure if bell's is available in california, but try to find it.
Pilsner Urquell, it is from the Czech Republic. Compliments prime rib to perfection!
I like Richards Red and Richards Honey Wheat.
and also Mountain Crest is good. the second one is a canadian beer so you may not be able to get it.
Also, Western pilsner is good, a Saskatchewan beer.
