Can redbull and vodka really hurt your heart/kill you?!

Question: thats what my mom said, but i dont think its true

Answers: thats what my mom said, but i dont think its true

The caffeine/additives in energy drinks mask the effect of the alcohol. This is bad because a lot of people will not realize how drunk they are getting and therefore, they will consume more alcohol than they should. Once the caffeine buzz wears off, you crash and the effects of the alcohol really set in.

It probably isn't as bad as your mother makes it out to be, but just like someone who consumes too much caffeine/sugar from coffee, too much energy drink isn't really good for you. Fruit juice is a better mixer, it generally has less sugar and no caffeine.

Depends on how much you drink. Although unless you get drunk out of your skull on it it's pretty safe. Not a healthly drink though.

there's is tons of sugar and caffeine and other additives in red bull...if you added to vodka...you got that intense feeling you r looking for...such as energy and a little buzz...if you have 5 or 6...can u imagine the sugar rush? the buzz? your heart beating so fast?...specially if your dancing or doing some sort of excersie. I think that there's so much the heart can take...so as long as you drink it in moderation and you know your limits you should be fine.

It is not the first time that Red Bull has been blamed for health problems. Last year, Ross Cooney, 18, from Limerick, died of sudden adult death syndrome during a basketball match hours after he had consumed three cans of Red Bull. Although the inquest showed that he had thickened artery walls and had had a heart condition as a child, the coroner called for more research into the effects of Red Bull and other energy drinks.

In April a study at Dublin’s St James Hospital found that two cans of the drink caused the arteries in the body to dilate and others to stiffen.

It the first i'm hearing that. I hope not because that's my drink at the moment.

Well red bull has been banned in Germany so there must be something init!

Well you are essential taking an upper and downer so we will probably see the effects of this in the years ahead

Redbull increases the heart rate with caffeine and other additives which in turn circulates the alcohol faster threw the blood stream and gives you a faster and harder drunk. I don't think it could actually kill you unless you already have cardiovascular problems that it would agitate.

Yes. When I was a sophomore in college, I used to take 3 vodka redbulls per night for 3-4 nights per week for most of the year. Suddenly I noticed that my heart would skip beats...usually one beat every 4 beats would skip. So I went to the doctor and they did a ton of tests on my heart...not very fun. The results said that my heart had weakened considerably and was now pumping at around 40% of its capacity. The doc told me to stop drinking alcohol and we'll see what happens in 6 months. I still drank beer, but no red bull vodkas. When I got another check-up (same tests as before), the results said that my heart had improved to pumping at about 60% capacity. Today, about 3 years later, I can barely even notice my heart skipping beats. I was very close to being in a life-threatening situation, and I'm sure that if I had continued to drink that many vodka red bulls, I wouldn't be alive today.

I'm sure that it is fine if you just have one or two per week, but if you over-do it like I did, you will have bad results.

My Cousins came to vistit from germany and that is what they got to drink everytime.. Redbull and Vodka, and they are still alive, But HMM Germans are kinda crazy and have high tolerence levels,
