Which venue: a pizza/beer joint, a commerical chain, a catering company, a hotel, or fine dining? Which is the best place to bartend and what is the $$ like?

I would definitely try a bar, club, or pool hall. You should make more money there then a restaurant. Unless there is a very loyal bar crowd at a particular restaurant that you know of. I would say that you should make an average minimum of $500 a week working 5 days a week. But there really is no way to tell how much money that you will make it depends on your personality.

The question is a catch 22. The where depends exactly where you are...I bartend at a high end hotel in florida on the beach i make an average of $65,000 a year tax free.. friends of mine that Bartend back in Pa bartend at a night club and only make $30,000... Each venue has its positives and negatives.. You have to ask yourself what type of person you are and what atmosphere you would like to work in..
