Seven rum and cokes in one day? Every now and then? One a week even . . . no, not really. Seven rum and cokes every day . . . most likely. What makes you an alcoholic or an addict to anything is when it takes the place of other more healthy activities or becomes the source of your happiness. If you have to have something not on the list of basic necessities in order to get through life, or your day, or an occasion, you have an addiction. Sounds like your friend is a binge drinker and could stand to maybe draw down to a couple less rum and cokes in an evening. But, just because you overindulge every now and then doesn't mean you're down the tubes -- but it may mean that you're prone to that type of behavior and need to watch out. (So says I.)

it depends, what's cole? If you tried to spell cola and you couldn't because you're drunk... maybe a problem. But, yes, your friend is an alcoholic.
Rum and coke seven times a day is a bit high even if one does this on a saturday night. If your friend is drinking like this everyday, you need to get him/her help fast. For health reasons (cirrhosis of the liver or alcohol poisoning) you need to help him/her to stop this. Call for help or bring him/her to an alcohol rehab center immediately. Good luck :)
