There is a red called Sweet B I T C H...not that great, but I love the name......
Reislings are always good...Mirassou is my favorite
Grange hermatige from south australia... lol cost about 600+ ahah or less depends on year but... i never had it
I normally just stick to buying decent wines that I know myself and everyone will enjoy
sancerre - white
chablis - white
pouilly fuisse - white
gigondas - red
Riesling - German white wine
Cabernet sauvignon, Napa valley and i give five stars, never got wrong with this one,any year of harvest. check this link. http://winecask.blogspot.com/2008/01/het... white wine try this link http://www.wine-searcher.com/english.htm... it depends, what you would serve, so the wine supports a taste of particular dish, but those two links shoud give you some ideas. enjoy
Red - Ravenswood Lodi (Californian Zinfandel) is a decently-priced wine that so far no-one I know has disliked.
White - Melbourne Lounge (Australian Chardonay/Pinot Grigio) unoaked, dry and wonderful aromas.
I know of several great wines good for any setting. First, the New Zealand wines are making a name in the wine world; Glaetzer Wallace Shiraz/Grenache 2005/$19.00. Also, this Australian wine: 1996 Black Opel Shiraz, Barossa Valley/$16.00 is one of my favorites and is nothing short of fantastic. As these two countries gain market share in the U.S. you can bet their price points will climb. But, for now they are great values.
I would have at least one white and one red for choices. Here are a couple of types that would work.
White:
Sauvignon Blanc
Chardonnay (unoaked)
Chenin Blanc
Red:
Sangiovese
Tempranillo
Chambourcin (my fav)
Cabernet Franc
.
Fetzer from California.
Beringer Third Century cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, merlot and chardonnay from California.
Try to find a Vouvray. Its a French wine that depending on the year is between 10 and 30 dollars and it is excellent
Menage a trois
