Absinthe just isn't as good since they stopped including wormwood...
Not convinced it makes any difference if you alternate between different types of stupidly strong booze, but if you alternate with something like beer you'll probably puke. Wouldn't bother mixing it with anything, as its taste is incompatible with all other tastes. Either way, you're going to feel like death when you wake up! Don't forget to drink lots of water and have some carbs to eat (hangover = dehydration + low blood sugar).
Just try not to end up naked on your balcony like I did the last time I had absinthe :-)

Don't mix. If you're drinking hard liquor, stay with hard liquor the whole night. Mixing alcohol always makes me have the worst hangover.
There is a special, ritualistic in a way, way to drink/mix absinth. By using a special spoon, sugar cubes and a water dropper. You put a shot worth or less in a cup, and about triple the amount by sugar/water mixture, so a 3:1 mix. Put the sugar on the spoon(a proper spoon willhave holes that act like a strainer kinda) and slowly dribble water out of the dropper, onto the cube, sugar water then goes through the straining whole, and into the cup to mix with the absinth. This is apparently the traditional way, and is supposed to be quite good. And as noone better than hemmingway can say 'about three of these and your long afternoon is no longer a problem' hope thhs helps
You could mix it if you are hard up for a buzz. The absinthe should do the trick in that department anyhow.
Vodka would put a mild sting and ruin the taste I would think. Absinthe wasn't made much for mixing. Unless you want to dilute it down with water and sugar.

Mixing it is just as good...i dunno about u but it seems most us girls tend to mix EVERYTHING with vodka lol but yeah it def taste just as good and adds to the BUZZ
There's no point in mixing vodka with absinthe; it'll just spoil the flavor. You can put a little water in the absinthe to make it louche, or you can put a little absinthe in some water and sit around on your patio drinking it all day, or you can make Sazeracs. (Google it.)
