Is a shot of liquor 1 oz or 1.5?!

Question:

Is a shot of liquor 1 oz or 1.5?

Answers:
A drinker will tell you 1.5, a science or business oriented source will most likely list as 1 ounce. Use the term "jigger" (1.5 ounces) and there is less room for interpretation. Supposedly some people call 3 ounces a "jigga" but I've never heard it and would say its incorrect.
Personally, I think of a shot as 2 ounces.

1.5 is standard, but cheap bars will give you one ounce.

1.5 usually, but in alot of drink mixing books/recipes they go with 1 as a shot. thats why alot of shot glasses have a line marked two thirds of the way up on the glass.

1 oz in bars and 1.5 oz in a jigger

According to National Bartenders School a standard shot is 1 oz

30 millilitres. Hope that helps!
