How many liters of water should you drink per day?!

Question:

How many liters of water should you drink per day?

Answers:
1 gallon per day; every alcoholic drink takes away from that gallon, so you need to drink water to compensate

1 litre

Active people should drink 3 to 5 liters (12 to 20 glasses) of plain water a day. Heat and physical activity increase this amount.

1 US Gallon = 3.79 Liters

6-8 glasses,
so like 2 litters a day.
Depends on your environment.
in tropical places, up to 3 or 4L per day.

3 liters should be plenty...especially if you drink alcohol that day....it will make for a smaller hang-over...seeing that a hang-over is caused by dehydration. Besides drinking that much water (only...no soda) lowers body fat and you'll feel healthier.

2 liters is recommended, i personally drink about 4.

8 glasses per day. Approximately 2 litres. About 60% of your body is water!

However much you NEED to drink. Not everyone is the same. And really, you should be careful. It may sound silly, but you CAN overdose on water and even die from it. People with low sodium to begin with should not be drinking tons of water. The medical term is hyponatremia, and a woman recently died due to it. The contest was to drink as much water as possible in a given time, in order to win a Nintendo Wii. She lost the contest, and she lost her life. Below are links to both medical information on hyponatremia (water intoxication), the story about the woman's death (Jennifer Strange), and a link to a CNN news story about how much water you should drink. Basically, you shouldn't have to FORCE youself to drink water. You know how much you sweat from exercise, and you know how much you use the bathroom. So you should know roughly how much water you need to drink each day. Hope this helps!
