Your kidneys use a lot of water to help filter out your blood.
It's the same reason why you have to pee so much when you drink a lot of bose, or coffee.
All that peeing dehydrates you. Drink a glass of water after every shot and you probably wont get a hangover / headache.

your head hurts because when you drink alcohol, your body dehydrates. when the body dehydrates, it tries to compensate by using any water it can find in the body, eventually, it will use the water that lies between your brain and your skull. This membrane filled with water protects your brian from your skull, without the water there, your brian is not as protected from impact, hence, you get a major headache.
To prevent this, eat a bran muffin before going out and drinking (it absorbs water for a longer period of time), then make sure you drink water throughout the night while drinking alcohol, then right before you go to bed or pass out, (which ever comes first) drink a huge glass of water.
