How long does Mike's Hard Lemonade last?!

Question: I bought a 12 pack back around new years eve. Does it go bad pretty quick like beer? I dont see an expiration date on the bottles...(if there is, it's illegible).

Thanks!

I used to sell the stuff. Technically, it has a shelf life of 9 months. The date is coded on the bottles.
Mike's assigns a letter to each month of the year (A = January, B = February etc, though the letter "I" is skipped)) followed by four numbers representing the month and year of production. All the codes on the Mike's packages are quite lengthy, but you need only concern yourself with the first five characters. A package bearing the code BO305 may be read as follows: B is for February, 03 is the third day of the month and 05 is the year. Since this code is a production date, this package was produced on February 3, 2005.
Chances are, if you got it on new year's, it'll be good for a while. And even though 9 months is the "technical" shelf date, in all reality it's good for much longer. It can't get you sick, either.

btw... Mike's is not mixed with vodka. In Canada, and some other countries, it is a vodka-based drink. In the US, it is formulated entirely by an artificial malt base.

A hundred bagillion years.

Not long in my house.

3 months, liquor doesn't go bad.

Plus you should never waste liquor, it's a sin. ?

it should last as long as vodka, since that what they mix into it.

Til you drin k it

I'd say about 10 years. Which is also how long most beer will last if unopened. The expiration date on beer is nothing but scam.

why hasnt it been used in the first place?! sober bunch of scrubs....drink and be merry!

I think they last awhile if they are in a fridge

if you bong it... it won't last long at all...

no more than 3 months.

It lasts till I come over!! lol! Um, I'm pretty sure you should be fine. Its only been a month. Try some and let us know!

In the fridge 1 month maybe 2 if you don't mind the plasticy taste. Out of the fridge maybe three days tops. In If it's been in the fridge go for it. If it's been out have a good friend on speed dial when you drink that poison.

The only ingredient that would cause me to question the freshness is the sugar, which is in both sugar form, and in any potential real fruit juice, and in the whisky or malt liquor itself. Sugar is often is the ingredient that causes food to rot because it feeds the bacteria in the food to a point where they can reproduce to dangerous levels. But there's no real chance for that to happen anytime soon.

With the alcohol, the bottling method, and the refrigeration...it should be fine for quite a while...all are methods of preserving food and keeping that bacteria level down. I doubt that Mike's has any real fruit in it, but even if it is...lemon juice itself is an acid and takes a long time to go bad.

If you have any concern at all, you can have a couple friends over this weekend and just put it out of its misery. If you open it and you have any reason to wonder if it's okay to drink (by smell, or if it looks different than when you bought it or whatever)...get rid of it and make a run for better drinkage. Better safe than sorry.

a while i took some out of the fridge that my mom had and it was like years old and it was still good
