Can you order liquor online?!

Question:

Can you order liquor online?

If so, give me a good website. I really want to try some Sotol and you can't get it around here.

OK, yeah I know "you can get anything online." I'm not stupid. I'm not sure you can ship liquor interstate in the US. Oh and yes, I am in the US, so the UK URLs --while probably great sites-- aren't that helpful to me.

If you live in the US, most states allow you to order it online, but you have to have it delivered to a local merchant. This not only assures the state that the taxes are collected, but also that you are of legal drinking age. Some states may exempt this, but mine does not. I was able to order just a bottle of an import to try from New York and my local merchant didn't even take a cut for the extra work since I was a regular customer.

I would recommend calling the manager of one or more of your local liquor distributors to find out more details.

This is a state issue. In TN, you can't order any alcohol beverages online. In others you can order wine, and in some you can order whatever you like. You need to check local regulations.

Yes, you can order liquor online, but many states restrict the delivery of liquor. Some states have no real restrictions, while others allow beer and wine only. Many others do not allow delivery of any alcoholic beverage, whatsoever. The rules are all over the board. Some municipalities further restrict the delivery of liquor beyond the State's laws.
