What is good Brandy supposed to taste like?!

Question: I just got Paul Masson (who knew they made brandy...?) and it taste sort of vanilla-y... the aroma is tasty and fills my mouth, even after I have swallowed it.

Ist that a good sign? It also had a cork in it. Is that common?

Good brandy is brandy that you like.

It has also been described a a cat in velvet slippers scampering down your throat. Not-so-good brandy is the same cat, without the slippers, being pulled back out by the tail.

Suggestion: Buy yourself a snifter. Place a small amount of brandy in it. Let your hand warm the snifter for awhile, Enjoy the aroma. Then sip. Repeat until the brandy no longer seems as good as it did when you started.

i am sure it is mutual not many know Paul Masson makes, distributes, and or produces brandy. Although, rumor has it that having a cork in a bottle is good sign.
