Bud select..love it

Heineken is less bitter than most...

Mickeys , I hate beer, but I think this is good

corona

I hate to stereotype but most women who aren't big beer fans on the whole usually dig Lindeman's Framboise. It's slightly tart, but very sweet and full of raspberry goodness. It should be pretty widely available, the distribution has really been pushed the last few years. The beer also comes in several other fruit flavors as well as "plain" varieties and a more tart and traditional version which is actually a "geuze" rather than a lambic.

Some others you may enjoy just off the top of my head are...

Blue Moon (A slightly domesticated witbier, smooth and orangey)

Goose Island IPA (A bitter beer indeed but it's more of a citrus bitterness, not the bitterness you may be picturing in your mind.

Young's Double Chocolate Stout (A very rich and heavy beer with strong flavors of burnt chocolate/baker's chocolate and cherry cordials)

I would avoid most of the "standard" beers. They're generally little more than water and often improperly stored/served.

I don't like a strong tasting beer, so I prefer Coors Lite or draft.

If you are looking for something less bitter stay away from Heineken. Look for a wheat ales like Hoegaarden, Ommegang Witte, Leffe Blonde or Bell's Winter White. You would probably also like Lambics or Saisons. These are Belgium farm ales and though not bitter have a nice sour bite to them. Lindeman's Kriek (Cherry) and Pomme (Apple) lambics are some of my favorites. There is also Hennepin from Ommegang. I don't much care fro Liefman's lambics they taste processed to me. Ooooo... There is also Ephemere from Unibroue, a wheat beer brewed with green apples... They also have Quelque Chose, a cherry ale that can be served chilled of warm for those cold winter nights.

I have to agree with Alesmith on most of what he said... Except Blue Moon. I HATE BLUE MOON! It is a horrid example of a a Belgium Wheat style. The Young's Double is one of my favorites, smooth creamy with just a hint of dark chocolate... Not a starter beer however unless you love chocolate.

Beer that has a fruity taste in my opinion is not a good beer if you have to add a lime to it (cough cough corona drinkers cough cough) to make it taste good, then it's not a good beer to begin with, if you want something that has a sweet taste to it, get a wine cooler. Not knockin wine coolers, I think Seagrams offers some good labels...

If you want some good smooth beers - then definitely go with a Heineken like the lady above suggested or St Pauli Girl (german), Fosters (austrailan)or even Sapporo (japanese)(which is a bit thicker) - those are my top 4 favorites...

If you want to save money on the beers the guy above me suggests, get any american beer and eat the fruit he suggest that the ale comes with and you will get the same taste....

Beer was not intended to be mixed with fruit....

I never was into those exotic or imported beers. Most are too heavy tasting for me. I like a light lager beer. I drink the best tasting and best selling beer here in America, ice cold Bud Light. It's so smooth and light and has great taste. Try some, I know you will enjoy it.

My wife is not a beer drinker, but I recently got her hooked on Sapporo.
It's a Japanese wheat, very light and crisp with almost no bitterness.
She also likes Stella Artois, it's a little heavier but very good.

Well my faves of the moment are Carlsberg (Danish beer sometimes hard to find unless your in a pb of some sort) Coor's Light or Heineken Premium Light. They're all smooth with very little bitterness. Or Stella...Stella is great.

Blue Moon and Stella Artois are my two favorites. Both are smooth and slightly sweet and not too heavy.

Listen to the Mayor, but skip the Bells Winter White. That's a little strong for girlie taste buds.
